The Health Benefits of Cucumbers for the Face

During the winter months you tend to have a gloomy effect take over, to top that off your skin seems to follow suit and become dull and it craves attention. Winter skin is ultimately thirsty and irritated and tends to dry out more than normal during this season. This facial mask will help deliver the tender loving care that your facial and neck skin deserves. It contains avocado, which has moisturizing effects, cucumber, which has inflammation properties, and lemon juice which has alpha hydroxy acids that help break down dead skin cells. Here’s how it’s made.
1 small avocado, mashed (you will need about 2/3 cup)
1/2 small cucumber, finely grated (you will need about 1/3 cup)
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice, fresh squeezed is best
3 tbs. green clay powder (you can find this at many health food stores worldwide)
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and using a fork, blend all the ingredients together until well combines. Cover the mix and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. When ready to use, apply a thick layer with a foundation brush to clean, dry skin. Apply the mixture to your face and neck area as well. Lay back so that you head rests comfortably on a pillow and that you head is parallel with the floor and relax. Allow the face mask to dry for about 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and rub the mixture into your skin as you are rinsing off. Rinse with cool water once all traces of the mask are gone from your face and neck area. Pat dry with a cotton cloth.
You can add a tingling feeling to the mix with a few drops of peppermint oil to give the added benefits as well. Use only two to three drops, because you don’t’ want the mask to burn.
