Along with the foot care recipes posted before in making your feet happy, these other two recipes can be made to help tired, over-worked feet as well.
• Foot Soak
2 quarts warm water
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup plain white vinegar
1 tbs. fresh lavender flowers and the leaves
1 tbs. Fresh thyme leaves
1 tbs. fresh chamomile flowers
Fill a large foot bath with warm water and stir in the baking soda, vinegar, and fresh herbs. The water will begin to fizz when the baking soda and vinegar combine, so soak your feet and allow the fizzing to stop. Leave feet in water for about 20 minutes. Pat dry and massage in your favorite foot lotion or oil.
• Cool Feet
2 cups boiling water
2 black tea bags
1 quart cool water
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup vinegar
Make a strong tea with the tea bags and the boiling water and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Fill a large foot bath with the cool water and pour in the hot tea. Add the baking soda to the water and place your feet in the water. Add the vinegar and relax for about 20 minutes. You can repeat this treatment for about a week and you foot odor should disappear.
While you are at it making homemade foot treatments why not make this awesome homemade hair shampoo as well.
2 tbs. castile soap
1/2 cup distilled water
1 tsp. apricot kernel oil or other carrier oil
2 drops of your favorite essential oil
Mix together and pour into a foaming soap dispenser. Use daily to give you hair the bounce and shine it deserves.
