Minty-Citrus Toothpaste
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007It’s quite easy to make your own toothpastes. If you just have the main ingredients to anything you can make it yourself right in your very own kitchen. Think about it. The main ingredients in peanut butter is what? Peanuts and oil and possibly a dab of sugar. Well, there you go. Smash the peanuts, add oil as needed to make it creamy, then add sugar to taste. Or go sugar-free. That’s it.
That’s about the same concept to toothpastes, shampoos, and evey hairsprays. All you need is the basic ingredients and you’re set.
To make the Minty-Citrus Toothpaste you need these basic ingredients:
1/2 cup bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
2 teaspoons sea salt
4 tablsepoons vegetable glycerin (can be found at hobby stores or health-food stores everywhere)
20 drops peppermint essential oil
20 drops lemon essential oil
20 drops orange essential oil
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Mix all the ingredients together throughly in a small bowl. Be sure to use a wooden sppon so the mixture will be easy to remove when cleaning up later. Place mixture in a squeeze top container or tube. Those can be found in the travel sections of any store. Or you can store the product in an air-tight container with a tight-fitting lid also. Use this product as normal, and it’s okay if your kids swallow it in moderation. It’s all-organic and all-natural. Be sure they rinse throughly to remove traces of the product on their teeth.
