Do it yourself pedicure

Doing a pedicure yourself in your own home can save you tons of money over time. You can also learn a lot about your own feet that you might have over looked otherwise with someone else looking at your feet.
Many nail techs are educated to look for warning signs on the skin or moles or spots that may not have been there before. You know more about your own skin, hands and feet than anyone, so why not give yourself your own pedicure at home. Here is a quick way to give yourself what you deserve.
What you will need:
1. Base Coat Nail Polish
2. Top Coat Nail Polish
3. Bath Salts
4. Nail File
5. Massage Oil or Lotion
6. Sugar Scrub
7. Scented Body Lotion or Cream
8. Soaking Foot Bath or Bowl (Massaging foot bath)
9. Towel
10. Orange Stick
11. Nail Brush or Scrub Brush and Mild Soap
12. Pumice Stone
What you need to do:
If there is polish already on the nails remove it with a cotton ball and nail polish remover. Fill the footbath with warm water and drop in the bath salts. Place your feet in the water and soak for about 5-10 minutes.
Remove one foot from the water and using the soap and scrub brush clean the foot completely removing any dirt or grime. Shape or file the nails as needed and trim if necessary.
Apply some massage oil and massage the foot for about five minutes taking special care of the areas that are sore. Remove any dead skin with a pumice stone and apply the sugar scrub and run in circular motions all around the foot.
Place first foot back into the water and repeat the above steps with the second foot.
Pat the foot dry and remove any calluses you first missed. Rinse foot in water and pat dry completely. Apply cream to foot and legs and massage for about 5 minutes more.
Making sure lotion is removed from nails, push the cuticles back and apply a base coat to the nails. Allow to dry and apply the top coat in two layers. Allow to dry and finish with a protecting top coat if needed.
