Backaches: Massage painful areas of the back with wintergreen essential oil, cinnamon essential oil and ginger essential oils that have been mixed in aloe vera gel.

2. Bad Breath: Chewing fennel seeds can help keep the intestinal tract clean. Peppermint teas serve the same purpose as well. Take a few drops of eucalyptus oil and mix it in a glass of water. Gargle and rinse for a natural mouthwash.

3. Bug Bites and Stings: Apply chamomile or lavender to the bug bite. Drinking fresh cilantro juice or applying a wet compress of cilantro to the affected area will reduce the inflammation.

4. Burns: A few drops of lavender oil on the burn speeds the healing time. Aloe vera is also a great slave for burns if it’s applied liberally to the burned area a few times a day.

5. Bursitis: Barley grass can soothe injured tendons and bursae, just add some to your salad everyday. Pineapple can also help relieve some of the inflammation.

6. Bronchitis: Inhaling eucalyptus oil in a pan of hot water three minutes every few hours during a day can help clear passages and loosen congestion in the bronchial tubes. Taking Vitamin C also helps in a great way throughout the entire year.

7. Boils: Dilute chamomile or the oil of bergamot and apply it directly on the boil twice a day to help dissolve the boil or bring it to a head.

If any of these illnesses become too great to cure with essential oils, consult your doctor immediately. This is only a guideline, this list is not meant to help treat or cure any illness. For more serious injuries, seek professional help immediately.

And why not? Champagne is packed full of health benefits. Champagne was actually the first wine which was made 2,000 years ago, was named after a small town in France. And a sparkling wine is considered champagne if it is made in the champagne district of this area in France. All others are known for just being sparkling wine. Sparkling wines usually come from areas where grapes don’t have enough sun to ripe according to other wine standards.

Champagne may help protect the brain against injuries incurred during a stroke and other ailments, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. The reason for the Champagne’s ability to cope with the brain according to the researchers lies in the high presence of polyphenols packed within every bottle. Red wine was declared as the healthiest types of wines to drink, because of the highest concentration of polyphenols. Champagne is similarly beneficial to those in red wines. Measurable levels of polyphenols were extracted from Chardonnay and Pinot noir/ Pinot Meunier. The amount of polyphenols in Champagne varies greatly from variety, vintage and a wide range of environmental factors. Of course the presents of chemicals and other pesticides could throw the health benefits off as well.

Red wine health benefits have been circulating for years on having a glass of red wine with dinner or at least once a day. Champagne may off there same benefits as well. Of course drinking red wine or even champagne the key is “all in moderation”. So toast to your health and your brain!

But most laundry detergent used is so harmful to the environment it ends up polluting the water ways with phosphates, chlorine and even petroleum. Instead opt for a product that doesn’t take a toll on the environment or your clothing material. Here are three that you should consider switching to.

1. Method Detergent: Contains no phosphates. It cleans through a biodegradable enzyme. $8 for 32 ounces (32 loads of laundry). Can be purchased at Wal-Mart and Target.

2. Biokleen Detergent: Uses super concentrated formulas, which means less packaging. All of the ingredients are from a renewable resource. Contains no phosphates and comes in fragrance-free. Can be used in cold water which saves on additional energy usage. $7 for 32 ounces (32 loads of laundry).

3. Ecos Detergent: Comes out clean in its whole production cycle. The all-natural liquid detergent is made in the United States in green facilities. The ingredients come from a domestic, certified organic source. Packaging and container are recyclable and even biodegradable. Ecos even encourages their employees to garden organically as well. $9 for 50 ounces (25 loads of laundry)

4. Try making your own:
• What you will need:
2 cups Soap flakes
1 cup Washing soda
1 cup Borax
Vegetable glycerin
Heavy plastic or glass container
Essential oils

• What you need to do:
Mix the soap flakes, washing soda and the borax together and store in a lidded container.

If you want to make a liquid all natural laundry detergent, add 6 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin and 6 cups of water to the powder detergent above. You’ll need to shake well before each use.

Lavender and Orange essential oils are good to add for scent. Use about 30 to 40 drops per batch of liquid detergent.

With common products within your own cabinet, you can still get your house clean without the risk of health and lung issues later on. Here are some common ingredients for making all-natural cleaners. Most you have on hand right now.

• 1/2 cup baking soda + 2 tbs. castile soap= Bathroom Cleaner (with a bit of elbow grease and these products, you can take almost anything off your tub, shower and even floor and cabinets)

• Used coffee grinds= Lawn Fertilizer

• 1 cup white vinegar + 1 cup baking soda + 1 kettle of boiling water= An Awesome Drain Opener (pour in baking soda into the drain, add the vinegar and wait 30 minutes, follow by flushing with boiling water)

• 1/4 cup vegetable oil + 1/2 cup lemon juice= Furniture Polish

• 1 cup white vinegar + 1 gallon of water= Glass Cleaner (mix together in a spray-top bottle)

• Brewer’s yeast=Flea Repellent (click here to find out more)

• Vitamin B= Flea Repellent (click here to find out more)

• Cinnamon Leaves = Whole Cloves= Air Freshener (simmer on the stove with water on medium-low heat)

Changing your cleaning routine and cleaning products to include one or more of these ingredients can significantly reduce your families and your own risk of inhaling harmful fumes that make cause other issues later, such as asthma, or even skin irritations. Your pet will thank you as well for changing their chemical exposure to a greener solution.

<img src='http://www.waxandbubbles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/toxic.jpg' alt='toxic.jpg' / align="left"/>Some of the cleaners you currently have in your cabinet may contain ingredients that are harmful to your health and extremely harmful to your lungs. And if you are inhaling it, more than likely your own children are. Here are some of the ingredients that are in our everyday cleaners that are toxic to our health in large amounts.

1. Ammonia: Poisonous when swallowed, causes irritation to the respiratory and breathing passages when inhaled though the mouth and nose. The most dangerous things about ammonia is, if it is mixed with bleach it causes a fatal gas, that will kill any breathing animal.

2. Butyl Cello Solve: Also goes by the name of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether. It is a synthetic solvent and is used on windows mostly. It has been shown to damage vital organs within the body such as the liver and kidneys and even has been shown to cause damage with bone marrow.

3. Chlorine Bleach: It is not only an environmental pollutant it is also a major irritant to the body, especially young children. To try a safer bleach alternative, try hydrogen peroxide based bleaching agent or even borax or oxygen bleach alternative to chlorine bleach products.

4. Fragrance: Fragrances are nice but have you ever thought of what’s actually making that fragrance smell that way. Most fragrances are made up of phthalates, chemicals that have been linked to reproductive issues and even some forms of liver cancer. Some fragrances are harmful to children suffering from asthma as well and can make their symptoms worse. If you enjoy fragrances then give essential oils a go. They are derived from plants and not made in a lab.

5. Nontoxic: This claim is meaningless when used on a product. Most color crayons and some cleaners carry this label and it mostly means that if ingested it might not make you sick. But there is no official definition or verification on this term so it means nothing to us right now. The worse part is, it is not regulated at all.

6. Sodium Hydroxide: This chemical is found mostly ion drain cleaners, and is extremely dangerous. It can cause eye, nose, throat and even skin damage such as burns if not handled with care. My thought is, if is can do that to my skin, what sort of damage is causing to my house and drains. This is not something you should even purchase or have in your home with small children or pets around. A very good drain cleaner and unclogging the drains is 1 cup of baking soda poured down your drain, followed by cup of white vinegar. Wait 5 minutes and follow with a gallon of boiling hot water. Repeat as many times as it takes.

The big issue with summer time enjoyment is flying and crawling insects, and most of us reach for the conventional spray and lather it up on our skin, but what exactly are we putting on our bodies? Have you ever taken the time and looked at the ingredients in some of those “conventional” sprays sold at many supermarkets? If you have and even if you haven’t, most contain ingredients that most don’t even know what they are. To get away from the “what is that” thinking, why not try some natural bug sprays and even how about making your own.

1/2 teaspoon vodka
1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon eucalyptus essential oil
1/2 teaspoon lavender essential oil
4 ounces distilled witch hazel
4 oz spray bottle (aluminum or glass because essential oils will eat through plastic.)

Mix all ingredients and pour into an aluminum or glass bottle with a spray top. Use as needed. This mixture can even be sprayed on clothing and tents and sleeping bags in low amounts.

<img src='http://www.waxandbubbles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/shave.jpg' alt='shave.jpg' / align="left"/>Many of us have either heard, read about, or even tried waxing the hair off our bodies, but is it really better than shaving and is it really worth the pain?

First off, what is waxing? Waxing is the removal of the hair from the root bed. And the hair can be removed from almost any area of the body, such as eyebrow waxing, bikini, male genital, & Hollywood/Brazilian waxing, leg waxing, arm/underarm waxing, back waxing, foot waxing, chest waxing, entire body wax . And many people do this on a regular basis. The hair will refuse to grow back between six to eight weeks at times and another waxing treatment won’t need to be done till at least a month to a month and a half for some people. If the waxing practice is done regularly for several year, the hair in some places will no longer grow back, because the hair follicle will die.

Waxing is very effective in removing a large area of hair all at once. It last longer then shaving and waxing for long periods of time the regrowth will either appear lighter in color or will refuse to grow.

The drawbacks to the waxing over a long period of time is it can be painful. Waxing runs in the high end dollars and even higher if you do it more often. Often the hair, when it is stripped goes against the growth of the hair and at times can cause the hair to grow in different directions. Ingrown hairs can be a drawback as well along with red bumps and even bleeding at times.

Even though waxing is preferred by some, it maybe not what you are seeking in order to remove stubborn hair. Whatever your method is, waxing definitely has it’s upside, especially when you are wanting to wear that new bikini you worked so hard to fit into this summer.

Skin Toner for Dry and Sensitive Skin:

What you will need:

1 tsp. high-proof vodka
A clean, dry glass bottle large enough to hold at least 1/2 pt.
4 drops rose absolute essential oil
4 drops rose otto essential oil
2 tsp. of witch hazel
9 oz. rose-flower water

1. Pour the vodka into the glass bottle, add the rose absolute essential oil and the rose otto essential oil and shake the bottle hard to mix and dissolve the oils.

2. Add the witch hazel and shake vigorously, followed by the rose-flower water. Shake the bottle until all the ingredients have blended together pretty well. Be sure and shake the bottle before each use of the toner.
