Herbal Body Soak
Makes 28 ounces

Bay leaves and marjoram are known for stimulating circulation while easing achy muslces and stiff joints. Marjoram, which is related to oregano, has a very relaxing scent.

1/4 cup dry bay leaves
1/4 cup dry marjoram leaves
1 cup baking soda
2 cups fine sea salt or epsom salts
1 to 2 drops tea tree essential oil

Crush the dried herbs in a coffee grinder or by hand in a glass bowl until you have a fine green powderish mixture. In a larger bowl, mix together herbsm soda and salt, stirring well. Store the mixture in an airtight container. To use, pour 1/2 cup of the blend into your bath and enjoy. If you choose to have this mixture near your bathtub for easy acsess be sure and store it in a container that has a rubber fitting lid so that no moisture can get into the soak.

I’ve actually researched about bay leaves and marjoram leaves and I’ve found out that they are usually used for cooking as spices. Where can I exactly get these? Can I get these at any local spice shop or any local marketplace? I have no problem with the other ingredients since I can easily get them at the San Francisco Bath Salt Company or other shops, even online. The only ingredients that I have a problem with are the herbs used in this soak.

Bay leaves can be found in the any store, mainly on the spice section. But, if you want fresh ones, you are going to have to go to a specialty shop that sells only spices or some health food stores sell them. If not then you can grow them yourself. Which is the way I tend to go because I know what is on the leaves when they are ready to harvest. The marjoram leaves, I have ordered off the internet and have found them in a bottle at my local healthfood store. If you ask your local health food store or spice store to carry them, they normally will order them for you. And if you become/are a long time customer, they will carry them full-time for you.
