Making your Own Aromatherapy Mists

spray1.jpgYou can use these misters to spray on linens or into the air and they are a lot more healthy and lung compatible to your lungs, your families lungs and your pets.

What you will need to get started:

1. 3 ounces of distilled water
2. 1 ounce of vodka
3. 50 drops of your choice of essential oil blend

The vodka will help disperse the essential oils in the water when it is combined. Take the 3 ounces of distilled water and the vodka and pour into a plastic spray bottle that is a dark color. The color of the spray bottle will help the oils from deteriorating in the mixture over time. Shake the contents and add the essential oil drops one by one. Consider using citrus and spice essential oil combinations because these aren’t typically ones used for the skin.

Here is an essential oil blends to consider:

• For all around the house:

5 drops Cinnamon essential oil
5 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops Lemon essential oil
5 drops Sage essential oil
5 drops Thyme essential oil
10 drops Bergamot essential oil
10 drops Citronella essential oil
10 drops Lavender essential oil
10 drops Tea Tree essential oil

You can change any of these oil blends to mix in your favorite scent. You can even add all of the above essential oil blends to a diffuser and place in the bathroom or the kitchen or whatever room needs more scent distributed throughout. Use the spray and add to your air vents to be distributed throughout the entire house.
