Mix your own RX at Home (Post 5)
• For a fever use vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has acidic properties and can help break a fever. Combine about a cup if the vinegar with 2 cups of water. Using a cotton washcloth, soak the cloth in the vinegar and water mixture and wring out the excess. Apply the vinegar/water to arms, chest and back. You can even bathe in the mixture in a bath tub. For higher fevers, consult a doctor’s advice.
• For nausea use ginger: Ginger is a great reliever of nausea for flying, or other motion sickness. You can take it in crystallized ginger form or wash a large piece of ginger and cut into slices. Layer the ginger with organic sugar one by one in a quart jar alternately until the jar is full. Allow it set for about 24 hours in room temperature. Syrup will develop. Strain the syrup into a jar with a tight fitting lid and store in the fridge. Take 1-2 tbs. when nausea occurs.
• For bowel issues use asparagus: Eating asparagus can help bring back the amount of good bacteria within the intestinal tract. These are especially helpful for those who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Eat several a day and see the benefits within a few weeks.
• For hot flashes try soy sauce: Soy sauce contains estrogen like compounds and can help with the occasional hot flashes from menopause or other issues. Use soy sauce instead of salt and make sure it is low-sodium. The soy sauce is fermented soy and can help relieve your body almost immediately once you continue to use it on a regular basis.
With these remedies, time and patience is the key. You can make almost anything from items in your cabinets in your kitchen or bathroom. Give them a try and see if they don’t work for you.
