Protect your skin during the hot months ahead
When it comes to the summer sun, your skin is a delicate thing and should be protected. Your skin tends to dry out and become more fragile as the heat tortures the skin layer by layer and a sun burn isn’t the only thing you should be careful of. Here are some tips to keep in mind when the summer sun is beating down on your lovely locks.

1. Get rid of the alligator skin: Scaly skin has never and will never be in for any season so why not prevent it before it starts. Humidity needs to only drop to 60 percent before the skin starts to loose moisture. Washing with cooler water temperature can actually be beneficial to summer dry skin than bathing in warmer to hotter water and use soaps that contain shea butter, olive oil, jojoba oils or palm and coconut oils as well.
2. Dry brush the skin: Dry brushing your skin will also help your lymph and immune system all the while helping remove dead skin as well. Start at your feet and work your way toward the heart. On your arms start at your hands and work toward the heart as well. Follow the brushing with a luke warm or cool shower and apply moisturizer immediately afterward.
3. Take care of your lips: The lips are one part of the body a lot of people tend to forget therefore leading to sunburned lips. Always apply a lip balm that contains SPF and use it liberally when out in the sun’s rays during the summer months. If you use a lip balm everyday, even when you aren’t in the sun, you will help prevent chapped lips as well.
4. Don’t forget the hair: The hair can also dry out in the summer as well. To prevent this look for quality hair products such as ones that contain aloe, calendula, chamomile, lavender, nettle, rosemary and even sage. Apply a deep conditioner in the summer as well and use it weekly.
