The Antioxidants Everyone Needs

body.gifDefend yourself from chronic disease with antioxidants. They can help with cancer protection, Strengthen the brain and vision functions, give you help with diabetes, fend off cardiovascular disease, as well as gain you healthy skin in the process.

Here’s how to guard yourself from pathogens and pollutants that we all face everyday of our life. The main source is the sun, the source of life on earth itself exposes us to dangerous radiation. And we are threatened with pathogens as well. The body has a highly effective detoxification system within itself though. A healthy lifestyle choices can strengthen this detoxification and help you have a healthier lifestyle no matter what you are doing.

• Start with your diet: There is significant benefits to a plant-based diet, rich in a variety of antioxidants. Vegetables and fruits contain the cancer protecting and cardiovascular healthy supplements our body needs to which we are all adapted too. The pigment in the fruit or vegetable is a key to how much antioxidant protection they offer our bodies.

• Try supplements: Supplements play a big role in our health, especially if you aren’t getting the necessary vitamins and minerals your body needs already. Look for natural carotenouids (alpha and beta carotene, beta cryptoxanthin, lutein, lycopene, tocopherols, and tocotrienols, zeaxanthin) as well as the vitamin Cs , including flavonoids, the mineral selenium, and vitamin E.

• Take care of your body: As in your skin. With Wax and Bubbles I am always posting skin care recipes as well as ways to relax and enjoy your own self. This is a minor step in taking care of our skin. Enjoy who you are. Stand naked in a full length mirror and point out all the pluses along your body from head to toe. Be kind to yourself. If you have shiny hair then put that as a plus that you take care of your hair. If you have wonderful curves then put down that you were blessed with a beautiful figure. There are many things to ones own skin and body that are positives. It just takes a minute to appreciate what we all were given and how we all differ.
