Using Tea to Soothe your Body
1. Reduce your under-eye puffiness with two cool tea bags over each eye; keep them there for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Soothe insect bites and even cuts by using green tea bags over the infected area.
3. For a sunburn, use tea bags containing jasmine and green tea in your bath tub and soak.
4. For a better hair color, mix henna coloring and black tea for brunette and chamomile for blonde hair color.
5. Use mint tea for a facial spray, it has uplifting properties that can help your skin and self feel more upbeat all day.
6. Drink tea and take breaks during the day. Start your day with a cup of tea and when times get stressful drink another cup to help you refocus your day.
Try these Tea Soothers:
• German Chamomile Tea Soother
Makes: 8 ounces
2 tbs. dried chamomile flowers or chamomile tea bags
1 cup boiling water
Steep the tea in boiling water until it goes cool or at least to room temperature. Strain all the solids out and pour into a clean container. Apple to the skin with a cotton pad or put in a spray bottle and spritz the face as needed throughout the day.
• Green Tea Kin Soother
Makes: 4 ounces
1/2 cup distilled water
2 tsp. green tea leaves or green tea bags
Bring the water to a boil and place the tea leaves or tea bags in the glass bowl. Pour the boiling water over the tea and steep for about 3 minutes. Strain tea leaves and allow the liquid to cool or at least cool to room temperature. Strain and apply to the face with a cotton ball or place in a spray bottle and apply to the face as needed throughout the day.
